Hours: Tuesday: 11 am- 5 pm ; Wednesday- Saturday 11 am–4 pm
This exhibit, guest curated by historian Lee Silliman from his own private print collection, features engravings of bison from a 152 year span. The engravings were created by European artists who never saw the animal and by artists who witnessed the massive beasts in the wild before their near extinction in the 1880’s. Media included in the exhibition are copper plate engravings, wood engravings, chromolithographs, and early 1900’s color lithographic postcards.
This exhibition is travelled by MAGDA and sponsored here at the Hockaday by Valley Bank.
