A Gift That Endures

As a Legacy Society Member, your gift will strengthen the Museum’s financial stability and provide a bright future for the Hockaday Museum of Art.

A Lasting Legacy

Members of the Legacy Society have one important thing in common. They all have made a commitment to the future of the Hockaday Museum of Art.

Your Legacy Gift will ensure lasting support for the Hockaday Museum of Art in its mission “to enrich the cultural lives of our community and region, and preserve the artistic legacy of Montana and Glacier National Park.”

The Hockaday Museum of Art has established endowment accounts with The Montana Community Foundation and the Whitefish Community Foundation.

Please consult your financial advisor or call the Foundation of your choice to discuss your Legacy Gift to the Hockaday.

Planning for Your Gift

You are invited to join other supporters of the Hockaday Museum of Art in becoming a member of the Museum’s Legacy Society.

Ensuring your estate is preserved for the organization of your choice requires thoughtful advance planning. Your financial advisor can help determine which option is best for you.

Options

  • Bequests – restricted or unrestricted, are an easy gift to establish through a will or direct gift.
  • Life Insurance – The Museum can be named as a beneficiary on your policy.
  • IRA or retirement plans can be the source of your gift.
  • Trusts – Your financial advisor can assist in setting up a Charitable Lead Trust or Charitable Remainder Trust.
  • Montana Endowment Tax Credit – Allows donors to pay less Montana state income taxes when they give a gift to a charitable endowment. The incentive is 40% of the value of a gift up to $10,000.
