Museum on the Move For Grades 6-8

Rob_Akey_Whitefish

We deliver this student-centered art museum experience directly to Middle School classrooms. Students are invited to to explore the intersecting worlds of art museums and art professionals through meaningful activities. Topics include the role of an art museum, art identification, different perspectives for viewing art, the curatorial process, and art handling. After examining reproductions and original works from the Hockaday Museum permanent collection, students simulate their own “Art Museum” exhibition.
Follow up sessions by an artist to visit or work with students in the classroom may be arranged.
