This exhibition features serigraphs, a new site-specific mural, and ledger art from Blackfeet artist Terran Last Gun / Sah’kwiinaamah’kaa (born 1989 in Browning, MT). His work centers on the process of color exploration and visual documentation of nature, cosmos, cultural narratives, and recollections of home. Often employing geometric aesthetics, he is contributing to an ancient Indigenous North American narrative through various media that include print making, ledger drawing, painting, and photography.
The exhibit presents Last Gun’s new work, as well as an on-site new mural created at the Hockaday. Check out a video of the artist painting his mural here:

April 1-3, Monday-Wednesday, 1-4pm : Mural Painting + Artist Talk. Join Terran for discussion and observation as he works on a site-specific mural installation at the Hockaday.
April 4, Thursday, 4-5pm : Gallery Talk with artist Terran Last Gun, Missoula Art Museum Senior Curator Brandon Reintjes, and Hockaday Museum of Art Director Alyssa Cordova. The panelists will discuss Terran Last Gun: Piikani Visual Sovereignty.
