Richard Buswell: What They Left Behind

19 Apr 2019 - 22 Jun 2019

In his early work, Richard Buswell contemplated time’s inexorable impact by setting his images in nature, contrasting the rise and fall of Montana’s pioneer settlements with the annual cycle of rebirth that shapes our world. In shifting his vision away from landscape and toward closer examination of timeworn relics, Buswell has shed his focus on the immediately recognizable in favor of near-total abstraction.

This exhibit was organized by the Montana Museum of Art & Culture at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana.

Exhibition is on view from April 18 through June 22, 2019.
