Linda Glover Gooch grew up in the orchard groves, washes, and arroyos of Southern California. Painting since her early teens, Linda now lives in Arizona and paints and teaches at the Grand Canyon and throughout the West.
Her plein air field sketches are the foundation for her larger landscapes. Working on location allows her to capture a scene’s color, light, and atmosphere while experiencing and absorbing its true essence.
A signature member of the Oil Painters of America and a master signature member of American Women Artists, Gooch cites artists John Singer Sargent, Anders Zorn, and the Russian Impressionists as influential on her painting style. Linda first showed her work at the Hockaday in the 2016 A Timeless Legacy Exhibit, and returns now for this solo exhibition, Intertwined with Living Waters.
An opening reception will take place ___
An accompanying workshop, ‘From Plein Air Pieces to a Studio Finish’ will be held July 28-31, 2020 with two days in Glacier National Park and two days in the studio at Gateway Community Center. Linda will share her knowledge and also share career tips, art discussion, and more! For more information on this workshop, visit hockadaymuseum.com/workshops-classes/
