The Hockaday Museum of Art’s collection captures the nostalgia and grandeur of Glacier National Park, the glory days of the Empire Builder Railroad, the Blackfeet Nation, and those who chose to settle in this majestic part of Montana. The collection of over 2500 artworks features works by significant authors, photographers, and painters as well as Glacier Park collectibles such as vintage maps and hand-tinted photographs.
Artists include: Joe Abbrescia, Rudy Autio, John Clarke, Russell Chatham, Ralph Earl DeCamp, Joe DeYong, Nancy Erickson, John Fery, Terrance Guardipee, Earl E. Heikke, Adolph Heinze, T.J. Hileman, Fred Kiser, King Kuka, Elizabeth Lochrie, Leonard Lopp, Mark Ogle, Nicholas Oberling, Neil Parsons, Ace Powell, Kevin Red Star, Charles M. Russell, Roland Reed, Joe Scheurle, Gary Schildt, David Shaner, O. C. Seltzer, and Diccon Swan, Lucile Van Slyck, Jessie Wilber, and other luminaries. Also featured are artifacts from writer James Willard Schultz, Winold Reiss, and others.
