Painters and mixed-media artists Linda Hendrickson, Shelle Lindholm, and Sheri Trepina discovered their natural connection – mark making – while meeting and painting together over the last three years.
Hendrickson considers herself a whimsical impressionist – within layers of paint doodled and dripped lie fragments of sketches from her sketchbook, marks of brilliant florescent colors and thoughtful brushstrokes.
Shelle Lindholm sees mark making as the portal into a good story. Multi layers of color, pattern, and organic texture are essential for creating interesting and lively animal worlds.
Sheri Trepina uses mark making with real leaves as a method to document what she observes in nature now as well as the memories of the landscape of her youth. She achieves rich textures and line thru the layering of delicate papers and watercolor.
Together, Trepins, Lindholm, and Hendrickson’s combined body of work highlights the unique diversity and versatility in mark-making and emphasize mark-making as a fundamental element of creating art.
An opening reception will be held Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 5-7pm. The exhibit will be on view from March 1 through May 25, 2019.
Mark Makers workshops will be available Friday, March 1 from 10am-5pm and Saturday, March 2 from 10am-3pm.
