Journey: A Painter’s Life

03 Nov 2016 - 31 Dec 2016

Journey: A Painter’s Life is a retrospective exhibition of Karen Leigh‘s over 40 years of creating artwork. Displaying watercolor paintings, sketchbooks, and painting memorabilia, this exhibition is, though long overdue, Karen’s first individual show.

Karen has been an adjunct professor at Flathead Valley Community College longer than any other professor to date. She has taught beginners as well as professionals in nearly every corner of the valley and beyond. Sketchbooks presented in the exhibit include many places Karen has travelled to, from cafes to junk yards to Monet’s Gardens and the canals of Venice. Karen believes observation is essential, and journaling is a wonderful way to learn to see.

Opening reception will take place November 10, 2016 from 5-7pm.
